Lamont says funding for Anna Reynolds Schools in Newington was ‘not a tough decision’ during tour

Deciding to fund the renovation of Anna Reynolds was “not a tough decision” Governor Ned Lamont told town officials during a visit to the elementary school on Reservoir Road Monday morning. The state is providing over $20 million toward the $35.5 million project, approved by nearly 70% of voters in a Nov. 2020 referendum. Anna Reynolds parents, students and school staff led a grassroots effort over the last few years to move forward the long overdue project. Some of the building’s problems include regular flooding, a bad roof, handicapped inaccessibility and outdated plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
