CT Water to spend $55M on system upgrades

Connecticut Water Service Inc. says it will spend more than $55 million in the coming year on upgrades to its water systems at home and in Maine. Eric W. Thornburg, the Clinton-based water utility’s CEO, said Friday its board of directors approved a $55.4 million capital-spending plan for 2017. Of that sum, $46.7 million is earmarked for Connecticut Water Co.’s statewide network of 315,000 resident-customers, and $8.7 million for The Maine Water Co. network serving about 85,000 resident-customers there.
