Gov. Lamont still pushing for income tax cut in highway tolls package

Lamont told reporters Monday that he is not giving up on a special session on tolls, although no session has been scheduled as many legislators are away on vacation in the middle of the summer. Lamont held a high-profile meeting with top lawmakers on tolls on June 19, but no agreements were reached. In a potential compromise, Lamont released a new idea that day for a small cut in the state income tax as part of the package for tolls.
