The Town Council has approved a proposal that could lead to the renovation of the high school track, baseball fields and tennis court. The council proposes using a mix of funds left over from the high school renovation project and money from a special revenue fund to pay for the project. The council approved a motion to issue a Request for Proposals that “will be used to hire third party professional” who would then submit “that the most appropriate design” and the projected costs. A timeline developed by the council calls for “the receipt of proposals and contractor selection in November. Design would take place through January with bidding of a project in February,” according to the minutes of the meeting prepared by Cathy Sirois, the town’s executive assistant. The contract for “the field work is expected to be awarded in March to allow construction in the spring and early summer, Sirois said.
