Proposed New Haven apartment building closer to key zone change

A zone change that could clear the way for a 13-story building with 136 apartments, including 14 affordable units, on what now is a parking lot next to the Strouse-Adler building cleared a key hurdle this week, winning the unanimous approval of the Board of Alders’ Legislation Committee. The zone change from BA to BD1, which the Legislation Committee approved Tuesday night after the City Plan Commission gave it a favorable recommendation Jan. 19, still needs approval of the full Board of Alders. PMC Property Group and its 78 Olive Street Partners were represented in Tuesday’s meeting by local attorneys Christopher McKeon and Marjorie Shansky.
