The Siting Council last week unanimously decided to let NTE seek a required certificate of environmental compatibility and public need for construction, maintenance and operation of the Killingly Energy Center, planned for 180 and 189 Lake Road. NTE expects the $700 million plant to create about 450 construction jobs and 20 permanent full-time jobs.
