The remediation work on the PCB-contaminated brownfield property at 894 Middle St. is in its final phases. The council voted to make an additional appropriation of $350,000 within the Capital Projects Fund for environmental engineering at the site. The city began the remediation work last April, with a $1.3 million grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development and the city contributed more than $300,000.
