The popular rink, located off State Street and on the southern end of Blake Field — a 10-acre city park in the East Rock neighborhood — will undergo repairs to expand it and improve the parking conditions. City Engineer Giovanni Zinn said they have already awarded a contract to do some reinforced steel work at the facility as part of the estimated $2.5 million project that is being covered with city funds.
