After three years of work, a $56.7 million project that improved a 5-mile stretch of the Merritt Parkway is coming to an end. The state Department of Transportation has announced that the project “will move to a full final alignment progressing east to west (Fairfield to Westport) as median reconstruction work is completed and temporary barriers are removed.” A milling project, which prepares the road for paving, will require the evening closure of the Exit 42 on and off ramps this week in Westport. The work is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, July 13 through Friday, June 17.
