The city has taken the next step in the creation of a new middle-high school building by hiring a manager for the $159 million project. Members of the City Council voted to hire Construction Solutions Group LLC of East Hartford during this week’s council meeting. Residents 9,524 to 6,204 had approved the proposed $159 million school construction project in a referendum Nov. 3, 2020. According to the contract, CSG will be paid $273,482 for design work, and $546,963 for the construction and permitting phase of the project. For phase two — demolition of the old building as well as building athletic fields and site work, CSG will be paid $105,639.
