With three proposals on the table, Gov. Ned Lamont said Wednesday he wants to host a meeting with legislative leaders soon to reach a compromise on financing for his $21 billion transportation plan to fix the state’s aging roads, bridges and railroads. House Democrats and Senate Republicans have released their own plans, with House Democrats proposing tolls only on tractor-trailer trucks at a dozen locations across the state and Senate Republicans calling for using money from the state’s rainy day fund in lieu of tolls. House Republicans have said their own transportation plan is forthcoming. The Senate Democrats have not yet released a plan.
