The entire rehabilitation project is expected to cost $8.6 million and is fully covered with state bond funding. It is expected to be completed in September, said DOT spokesman Kevin Nursick. The bridges are all classified as poor or serious condition, though only one of the projects is a traditional bridge, according to the state Department of Transportation. The project was awarded to Northern Construction Service, New Milford Mayor Pete Bass said on Facebook while announcing the road closure.
