Massachusetts joined the gaming party in 2018, with the opening of its first resort casino with expansive gambling and entertainment options opening in August in Springfield. While more than 50 miles away from either Connecticut casino, MGM Springfield has already taken a bite from the revenues for Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. Mohegan Sun reported in early December that net revenues at its flagship Connecticut casino dropped about three percent in the quarter that ended Sept. 30.
